Tips On How To Save Energy In The Summer

* When not in use, turn off the lights. Do this every time you are finished in a room.

* Keep your thermostat at 78 to79 degrees.

* Weatherstrip doors and windows.

* Make sure your ceiling fans are blowing down.

* Use cold water to wash clothes.

* Run appliances such as dishwashers and washers later in the evening. This will help prevent your home from heating up during the day.

* Keep the blinds or shades on the windows closed in hot weather when you are using the air conditioner.

* Install a flow restrictor in your shower. It will help cut the cost of taking a shower.

* Make sure your air conditioning filters are clean. If not replace them.

* Unplug electrical devices that you don't use. Believe it or not, some of these still use electricity when not in use.

* When leaving your home for more than a day, raise the thermostat setting.
